Takenouchi's curiosity and a natural penchant for integrity makes his playing and vast repertoire unique amongst his generation of pianists.
For my latest Haydn disc from Artalinna, I intentionally chose his middle-period sonatas for harpsichord and fortepiano and recorded on a huge Steinway. I think it worked out pretty well.His repertoire ranges from Baroque to Contemporary, but Takenouchi is also a tireless advocate for new music and lesser known pieces.

Hiroaki Takenouchi is a Blüthner Artist and owns a beautiful Blüthner piano. He gave a concert in Leipzig’s Weißes Haus as part of the Blüthner Master Series in September Takenouchi teaches piano at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (Glasgow).
